HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR GRADE ,for THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN PROMOTED THIS YEAR

 VTU :How grades  be CALCULATED For promoted students

1)
CIE(CONTINUOUS INTERNAL EXAMS ) MARKS OF EACH COURSE OF CURRENT EVEN SEMESTER WILL BE SCALED TO MAXIMUM OF 50

 (THESE WERE THE ONLINE EXAMS/QUIZ/TESTS THEY TOOK FOR YOU-DIFFERENT METHODS FOR TEST ,DEPENDING ON COLLEGE)

PLEASE CONTACT YOUR PROFESSOR FOR YOUR MARKS
Example :
Each student  internal marks of each subject they will take as out 50…
eg-(30 for internals,10 for record submission,10 for quiz/projects or tests)
  • They may consider best of your internals or average(DEPENDS ON HOW MANY INTERNALS YOUR COLLEGE HAVE CONDUCTED )
  • They will take best OF ALL OR AVERAGE IT (depends on your college)
  •  If you  have attended  only one internal ,then that will be considered for your marks
  • if you have been absent for the internals
    or not able to attend it due to some problems
  • or due to device or connectivity issues
 They will give you alternative option like writing a project or assignment
or just ask for another internal to be conducted for you ,if your reason is genuine they will surely conduct it for you ,contact your college
   ..its depend on college.
2)
 SEE (semester end exams) marks of all credit courses of preceding odd semester shall be scaled to maximum of 50 then averaged.
  •  if the you  have remained absent in the preceding semester,the SEE marks for  that course shall taken  as zero for you
lets consider you are in 2nd sem now and just got promoted
and the below marks are of your 1st year (p-cycle/c-cycle)
Condition 1:If you passed all subjects in preceding odd semester(1,3,5,7 semester)
Note : Maximum marks is 50 or if you consider different scheme maximum marks both are same
(all the total marks out of 100 is reduced to out of 500
for eg you got 90/100 in ENGLISH in 1st year then out of 50 it will be  45/50)
Subject 1 : 45/50
subject 2 : 30/50
subject 3 : 28/50
subject 4 : 35/50
subject 5 :  23/50
subject 6 :  25/50
Total   = 186 out of 300
Average = 186/6 =31/50
SEE OF EACH SUBJECT IS 31 you should get minimum of 10 for passing OUT of 50
Condition 2 :If you have 2 or more backlogs subjects in preceding odd semester i.e., you have failed in 2 or more subjects
Note : Maximum marks is 50 or if you consider different scheme maximum marks both are same
Subject 1 : 45/50
subject 2 : 30/50
subject 3 : 08 (fail)/50 (that is you got 16/100)
subject 4 : 35/50
subject 5 :06  (fail)/50 (that is you got 12/100)
subject 6 :  25
Total   = 149/300
Average = 149/6 =24.83~25
SEE OF EACH SUBJECT IS 25
you should get minimum of 10/50 for PASSING
Important: you won’t be  failed if you have backlogs ..they are taking average of all subjects because of the backlog subjects and less marks subjects… minimum marks 10/50(SEE of each exam) ,you need to pass  .. you can can calculate with your scheme maximum marks …
consider condition 1 for this
TOTAL MARKS OF CURRENT PROMOTED STUDENTS (final marks for this year)
CIE                          +  SEE(of previous year)                = TOTAL(out of 100)
Subject 1 :  45/50          Subject 1:   31/50                     = 76
subject 2 :  30 /50          Subject 2:  31/50                      = 61
subject 3 :  28  /50         subject 3:   31/50                      = 59
subject 4 :  35  /50         Subject 4:   31/50                      = 66
subject 5 :  23 /50          Subject 5:   31/50                      = 54
subject 6 :  25 /50         Subject 6 :   31/50                      = 56

3. The calculated SEE marks above  shall be taken as SEE marks of each course of the current even semester
